Bob Caplan
Bob Caplan lives in Rohnert Park, California and has been a home brewer since 1990. Bob is the "braumeister" for the Drei R Brauerei, a consortium of four home brewers including himself. The Brauerei, true to its name, produces mostly German style beers, but makes a pretty mean Red Ale and Nut Brown Ale.
Bob and three of his fellow brewers have traveled twice to Germany and the Czech Republic to sample various Eastern European beer styles firsthand and at their freshest.
Bob is the President of GUZL (Genie Users Zymurgy Lodge) the nation's first on-line AHA-sanctioned homebrew club. GUZL's activities include working on brew projects, swapping beer, and entering competitions around the U.S.
Bob's recipe for the Bohemian Pilsener he and the other members of the consortium brewed won a blue ribbon in the 1995 Northwest Pilsener Competition held in Portland, Oregon.
